Florida mom Melissa Townsend thought it would be a bright idea to call 911 and ask police officers to come over and scare the life out of her kids—just because they weren’t “listening to her.” But to her surprise things didn’t really play out like she had expected. The cops didn’t “scare” her kids, but they DID arrest her. Look who learned a lesson now.
I really think there needs to be a workshop class out there on how to properly discipline your kids.

According to WKMG, Townsend claimed that she was looking to punish her 1- and 3-year-old kids who weren’t listening to her and thought it would be clever if she had cops come over and pretty much scare the crap out of them. What kind of sane parent does that? The dispatcher on the 911 call replied: “We don’t come out and scare kids,” and to no one’s surprise when police showed up to the 27-year-old mom’s home, they found her drunk. Oh and I should probably mention she also kicked an officer in the crotch several times. Classic!
So of course after that, Townsend was arrested and charged not just with child neglect but with battery on an officer, resisting arrest and three counts of probation violence. What a hot mess! What gets me the most is that this woman was clearly drunk and incoherent, so what made her think her kids would actually “listen?” Oh wait … she wasn’t thinking. They most likely weren’t even doing anything wrong and were probably frightened by their mother’s strange (and frankly irresponsible) behavior.
The kids are now staying with relatives. Thank God. Seriously, what’s up with all these parents and their dysfunctional ways of disciplining? Have none of them ever heard of time out?
And can we talk about this mom’s illegal use of 911? The fact that she actually expected the cops to do what she asked only confirms how nuts she really is. Honestly, this woman probably did enough to scare these poor kids herself. With crazy parents like that, who needs cops (or anyone for that matter) to scare them?
