Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball didn’t get off to the smooth start she was probably hoping for, but it seems the pop star still managed to come out on top. The trek officially kicked off Friday night in Seoul, South Korea, despite Christian groups’ attempts to have the show canceled because of its promotion of homosexuality. The South Korean government prohibited any “Little Monster” fans under the age of 18 from attending, but Gaga now says the concert still earned the title for the second highest attendance in the country’s history. The singer shared the news on Twitter this weekend, and said the concert was “like being completely prepared for a moment you could never prepare for.”
Lady Gaga is scheduled to take the stage next in Hong Kong for four shows starting Wednesday, May 2nd. The Born This Way Ball is expected to make its way to the U.S. sometime in early 2013.
