Amy’s Lioness Tops U.K. Charts Posthumously

Her father, Mitch Winehouse, tweeted the announcement.

On his Twitter page, Mitch wrote:
Just been told, Amy at number 1. 140,000 sold = £140,000 to foundation in one day. Well done baby.

He also added that his “heart is still sad but bursting with pride.”

A day after Amy’s Back to Black was passed by Adele’s 21 as the highest selling EP in the 2000s, Lioness: Hidden Treasures hit the top weekly spot.

The album features unreleased tracks and covers of the late Amy’s songs.

12 songs were chosen out of thousands of hours of Amy’s vocal work by her collaborators Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson.

The donation will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation
