Manning will be free to sign anywhere — since he’s being released from his contract, he is not required to wait for the March 13 opening of the NFL free agency market — but expect him to carefully mull his options before he dons his next helmet, one that’s sure to never look quite right after 14 seasons with a horseshoe.
