She may be living in a lush L.A. mansion today, but Jennifer Lopez has never forgotten her old neighborhood. During a recent interview, J to tha Lo openly discussed why the Bronx will forever hold a place in her heart.
“I am very proud to say I grew up in the Bronx,” she stated. “It was a community that always exhibited great love and affection for each other.”

That’s not all; Lopez also shared affection for the movies her hometown inspired. She said one of her faves continues to be West Side Story, particularly because of its positive portrayal of Puerto Ricans.

And surprise, surprise…Jennifer’s hero happens to be a New York Puerto Rican too. When asked which star she looked up to most, Lopez quickly named the legendary Rita Moreno.
