Fast food workers in Los Angeles have joined the nationwide strike in demand for a higher hourly minimum wage.
According to The Huffington Post, employees from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell and various others took to three different locations in Los Angeles on Thursday to demand a $15-an-hour minimum wage.
The Los Angeles Times reports that protestors gathered at 6 a.m. and carried signs which read: “Burgers and Lies,” “Yo Quiero $15,” and “Lovin’ a Living Wage.”
“The reality of the restaurant industry is very different from how it’s being portrayed by the labor organizers leading today’s protests,” Angelica Pappas, communications manager of the California Restaurant Association, told Huffington Post in a statement.
