Kim Kardashian and sisters Kourtney and Khloe are looking to expand their ever growing empire by signing a deal with Barbie to release their own range of dolls. It’s perhaps strange the girls hadn’t thought of the collaboration sooner, with the Kardashian brand appearing the perfect teammate for Barbie.
Though a recent New York Post report had claimed the girls were looking to create their own glossy magazine – complete with fashion and beauty tips – it seems Kim and co have more pressing projects to attend to. An insider speaking to the US Weekly magazine said, “The dolls will reflect the girls’ measurements and may even come in Kardashian-designed outfits”. Fans were alerted to a possible ‘Kardashian doll’ after Kim, 31, mentioned Barbie in one of her Twitter posts over the festive period, saying, “Merry Christmas Barbs! I’m sure we’ll be seeing lots of each other [in 2012]. Shopping soon!” Anticipated is already building for the line, with some sources suggesting the Kim doll in particular could be a bestseller. Mattel – the company behind Barbie – have released celebrity lines before, most notably with their Beyonce and Heidi Klum dolls. The company also works with television shows to produce limited edition dolls, such as the recent set of Dancing With The Stars figurines.
So despite Kim’s disastrous 72 day marriage to Nba star Kris Humphries, it appears the Kardashian brand is still going from strength-to-strength.
