This week, rumors began flying about Mark Sanchez being replaced by Tim Tebow as the New York Jets’ starting quarterback.
Now granted it’s all speculation, but a recent quote from head coach Rex Ryan sent the sports bloggers into a tizzy. Apparently, Ryan wouldn’t confirm whether Sanchez would continue his starting QB status after next week.
“[Mark’s] our starter,” Rex said when asked about Tebow. “He’s our starter this week.”
The key words in the quote were clearly “this week.” Does that mean Mark may be swapped out by the end of October? The Jets did suffer a brutal loss on Tuesday, which may have prompted the speculation.
But even if Sanchez gets put on ice, we’re not feeling too sorry for him. Especially after reading about his life outside the field.
