Third Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration and Festival

HSLQ ImmigrationHuntington Station, New York— As Hispanic Heritage Month 2013 has begun, Friends of Huntington Station Latin Quarter, HSLQ, is planning our Third Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival. Every year, our goal is to unite ALL residents and provide resources that will unify, strengthen and improve our local and regional communities. This year the event will take place Sunday, September 29th, 2013 from 1:00-5:00pm in Manor Field Park, Huntington Station, NY. The theme of our festival this year is “Immigration and Our Community.”

Immigration affects our community everyday. Being educated and informed about all topics surrounding immigration is very important for all individuals, families and organizations of our communities. With participation from experienced organizations and individuals from throughout Long Island, we will create an event where members of the Hispanic community, and others, can come learn about how immigration shapes and influences our daily lives.

As the third installment of this event and with a theme that has potential to affect every member of our community, we expect it to be our biggest event yet. There will be local and national businesses and organizations, food vendors, children’s entertainment, musical entertainment, and 3000+ attendees that will assure the event is not only educational and resourceful, but also a day where families from our community can come relax and enjoy.

“The festival is a way to bring the community together, provide resources and create awareness about existing resources, and celebrate all that is our Hispanic Heritage. We are excited to have immigration and everything about it be the theme for our third annual festival,” says Pedro Palacios, the President of HSLQ.

HSLQ is a movement from within the community with the belief that the solution to what ails Huntington Station “Is Up To Us.” We look forward to having the diverse Huntington Station community present and to hosting an event to unify and strengthen everyone!
